We made it through our first day at home! Yesterday we FINALLY got discharged at about 7:30 and it is really nice to be home. Today I feel like my whole day consisted of filling syringes with various medications, putting them down Matthew's NG tube, and then cleaning the syringes. He's on 13 medications and gets meds 5 times a day-- so literally, that's what I did today.

Tommorrow is our first appointment at PCMC and they say that everything we need to do will take 3-4 hours. We just can't seem to really get away from the hospital I tell you. We are hoping things are still smooth sailing. I'm sure they will be. We recognize how very blessed we have been. Matthew is such a miracle and we love him so much. Now we just need the brothers home. Matthew started to cry when he talked to them on the phone today. He said he wants Josh and "Gook". It broke my heart! It will be a happy day when we are all home together!!

  1. No worries, we will get the boys back to you fast! We have been known to do the drive in 9 hours and 45 minutes. Of course, Michael went potty in Phoenix when we left and then held it till we hit Orem. Don't worry, I won't expect that of your boys, I will get them a cup or something :) Hope you know I'm kidding! Love you guys.

  2. Welcome home!! Thanks for the update. You definitely deserve an honorary RN degree by now! Keep up the great syringing. Hopefully it will get easier/ more automatic and not take up your whole day in the future. You continue to be in our prayers.

  3. That is so great that you're at home! Hopefully it will get easier to give all of his meds... How long does he have to be on that many? And that is SO cute that Matthew wants to see his brothers. Hopefully it won't be long until everyone is at home together!

  4. Gook is a good name for Luke. I like that. Before you know it, you'll turn the syringing into some creative game to make it go faster/make it more fun. Necessity is the mother of invention. It'll work itself in. I miss you all very much. You've all lived through a huge crisis, and all made it out beautifully. Way to go, gang! You can wrestle polar bears now!
